Two-Minute Drill

Take over a real NFL ending and call every snap yourself.

About the game

Two-Minute Drill turns you into the head coach for the last drive of a real NFL game. Call every snap — runs, passes, RPOs, spikes, field goals — and each decision is graded by win probability rather than by how the play happened to turn out, so sound coaching still scores when a receiver drops a perfect throw. A new drive lands every day for everyone, and the results board shows whether you coached it better than the real sideline did.

Game features

  • 740 real late-game spots from the 2023 through 2026 NFL seasons, playoffs included — the real score, clock, field position and timeouts
  • Every option's win probability is simulated before you see a grade, so calls are judged on the decision, not on how the play turned out
  • 27 play calls, from inside runs, RPOs and screens to deep shots, play action, flea-flickers and a late Hail Mary
  • Tap any receiver to change his route before the snap, and pick your personnel from that game's real roster
  • The clock runs on the NFL rulebook — incompletions, out-of-bounds runs, timeouts, the two-minute warning and scores all stop it
  • All 22 players on the field carry ratings from 40 to 99, built from their real production up to the week of that game
  • One shared daily drive plus Survivor, a streak run through random fourth quarters, with boards that show how your coaching ranked

How to play

Each day deals one real NFL ending — say your own 8-yard line, down eight, 1:44 left and no timeouts. Open the spot, pick Run, Pass, RPO or Trick, then the exact play; tap a receiver to flip his route when nothing on the menu quite fits. Set the tempo with no-huddle or milk-the-clock options, spend timeouts, spike the ball or line up the field goal when the moment arrives, and on defense choose between a blitz, a loaded box or playing soft. Every snap resolves with a real NFL play, the clock keeps NFL rules, and the final card grades each call and shows how your coaching ranked against the real one.

Tips & strategies

  1. 1.Grade the decision, not the outcome — the game simulates win probability for every option, so a sound call that draws a bad play still scores well.
  2. 2.Know when the clock actually stops: out of bounds freezes it only in the final two minutes of a half and the final five of the game, so chase the boundary or throw incomplete when time matters more than yards.
  3. 3.Play the matchups on defense: a blitz gets beaten by quick throws and screens, a loaded box gives up play action and deep shots, and soft coverage concedes the short run.
  4. 4.In protect-the-lead spots, make them spend timeouts — milk the huddle and keep runs in-bounds, because scoring too fast can hand the ball straight back.
  5. 5.Survivor ends on one loss, so coach the percentages: take the points, respect the kick, and save the Hail Mary for the play where nothing else wins.

Frequently asked questions

What is Two-Minute Drill?

A free daily football strategy game. You take over a real NFL game in its final minutes and make every call — runs, passes, clock management, fourth downs — and each one is graded against win probability.

Is Two-Minute Drill free to play?

Yes. The daily drive and its leaderboard run free in your browser with no account, and your progress saves locally. The official site offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade on top.

How are my play calls graded?

Every option's win probability is simulated for your exact situation — score, clock, field position, down and distance, timeouts — and your call gets a grade from Best call to A big miss.

Do all players get the same scenario?

Yes, everyone coaches the same daily drive, and the results board ranks your calls against the crowd and the real coach. Survivor mode deals random fourth quarters when you want more than one a day.

Is this the official game?

Yes — this page embeds the original build served from nfl2mindrill.com, the game's only official home.

Is Two-Minute Drill affiliated with the NFL?

No. It's an independent fan-made project built on public play-by-play data. Team and player names only identify the real games the spots come from, and no team logos are used.
