Mr. Duck's Probation
One duck, one post, sixty seconds of freedom.
About the game
Mr. Duck's Probation is a one-button game where you tap to keep a wandering duck on his post. Every five seconds he gets faster, and past triple speed he starts cutting sideways without warning. Hold him inside the post's ring for a full minute and his parole is granted.

Game features
- One-button play: a tap, a click or the Space key is the entire control scheme
- Speed climbs 0.2x every five seconds, topping out at 3x near the fifty-second mark
- Past 3x Mr. Duck jukes: sudden sideways course changes flash a warning on the timer
- A wide aim cone (about 130 degrees) shows where a tap will count before you click
- Taps carry a short cooldown, so panicked clicking leaves him un-nudged
- The dashed ring around the post tracks your wanderings count every time he strays out
How to play
Tap or click just in front of Mr. Duck — the pale cone ahead of him shows which taps count — and he bounces back toward the post. On a keyboard, Space or Enter nudges him along his current heading. Each tap sends him back at a fixed strength, but he accelerates every five seconds, from a stroll to a dead sprint by the end of the minute. At 3x speed he starts juking, cutting sideways mid-run without warning. Keep him inside the dashed ring and, above all, on the screen: the moment he leaves it, the run is over. Last the full sixty seconds and his parole is granted. Your best time is kept for the session.
Tips & strategies
- 1.Aim where he is going, not where he is — only taps inside his forward cone connect.
- 2.Respect the cooldown: two quick taps mean the second one does nothing, so press once and re-aim.
- 3.The early half minute is calm. Use it to keep him near the middle instead of firefighting at the edges.
- 4.When the timer flashes UNPREDICTABLE, stop leading long shots and take short, reactive taps instead.
- 5.Treat the dashed ring as your warning line. Once he is past it and still accelerating, the screen edge is one juke away.

Frequently asked questions
Is Mr. Duck's Probation free to play?
Yes. It runs free in your browser right on this page — no download, no account, and the build itself carries no ads. This page embeds the developer's official build from itch.io.
Does my progress save?
Your best time survives only as long as the tab is open. The game keeps no saves and no accounts, so reloading the page starts the count from zero.
What happens when I reach 60 seconds?
Parole is granted: confetti falls, Mr. Duck walks free, and one more tap starts a fresh run if you want to beat your time.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. The game is built for touch — tapping anywhere on the screen nudges him, and the whole layout adapts to a phone-sized screen.
What does the wanderings counter mean?
It counts how many times Mr. Duck strayed out of the dashed ring around his post. Straying costs nothing by itself — only leaving the screen ends a run.
Why did my tap do nothing?
Either the previous tap was still on its short cooldown, or you tapped outside his forward cone. Watch the pale cone ahead of him and aim inside it.
