Sheepdog Valley
Round up the flock, bark off wolves and train your sheepdog across a peaceful valley.
About the game
Sheepdog Valley is a top-down herding game where you play Bramble, a border collie racing the clock to gather every sheep into the red barn. Circle behind stragglers, dash to cut off escape routes and use a well-timed bark to keep the flock moving — and, on later pastures, to drive off wolves. Every completed outing pays coins for one of eight training paths, and endless numbered pastures across meadows, orchards and ponds keep the challenges coming through changing seasons and weather.

- Eight training paths with five ranks each, bought with the coins earned on successful outings
- Four coat looks and four bark voices to make Bramble your own
- Changing seasons, weather and times of day, set to original meadow music and animal sounds
- An illustrated field guide and a pasture journal for returning to any field you have unlocked
How to play
Choose a pasture and steer Bramble with WASD or the arrow keys. Sheep drift away from you, so circle behind the flock and push it toward the red barn before time expires; Space triggers a dash for swinging into position fast. Bark with Shift or E to snap stragglers back into line — and on later fields, to drive wolves away from your sheep. Clearing a field banks coins and up to three stars, and coins buy ranks on Bramble's eight training paths. Lose a sheep to a wolf and you can retry the pasture without spending anything, then return to unlocked fields from the journal to chase a better time.
Tips & strategies
- 1.Always work from behind — sheep flee from your dog, so stand on the far side of wherever you want the flock to run and let them carry the movement
- 2.Gather stragglers before pushing the main group; a well-timed bark pulls a wanderer back into line faster than chasing it down
- 3.On wolf pastures, patrol close to the flock — barking only drives wolves off if you are near enough to your sheep
- 4.Herd the leaders first: a leader with followers moves the whole group at once, saving you dashes
- 5.Dash to cut off escape routes rather than trailing behind — sheep that slip past your flank cost more time to round up than they ever save
- 6.After a few upgrades, replay your earliest fields from the journal; familiar pastures are the fastest way to bank three stars

Frequently asked questions
Is Sheepdog Valley free to play?
Yes. The developer states the full game is free with no advertisements and no real-money purchases, and the browser version plays right here with no download.
What happens if a wolf catches a sheep?
You can retry the pasture without spending any coins, so a lost sheep costs you time rather than progress.
How do I unlock more pastures?
Bring every sheep home before the timer runs out and the next numbered pasture opens. The pasture journal then lets you return to any unlocked field.
Can I play on mobile?
The browser build adapts to phones and tablets, and the itch.io page also offers free Windows and Android downloads.
What are the stars for?
Each cleared pasture awards up to three stars based on your finish time, and replaying a field from the journal is how you improve them.
