Piccadilly Party Simulator

Keep the party going till 5am Monday.

About the game

Piccadilly Party Simulator puts you on the crew of a real Leeds Festival late-night stage, rebuilt in PS2-style 3D. Six missions run from Thursday night to five in the morning on Monday: hunt for a missing USB while Danny covers the decks, fix the EQ with the Noise Police watching, take selfies as Beefy Melons, feed DJ Holland back to life, stash the rider and clear the stage of hangers-on. The cast are the actual Piccadilly Party team, and the game was built by LK Studio with the party's organisers, Beefy Melons Event Creatives.

Game features

  • Six missions across one festival weekend, from Thursday's USB hunt through the Sunday changeover to a 5am Monday finish, each with its own pass-or-fail rule
  • You play three members of the real crew in turn: Dave behind the decks, Beefy Melons out in the crowd and Charlie On Sound guarding the rider, with DJ Danny Oliver, DJ Holland, Rachel Hume, Eddie Kerr and Ben at the lighting desk around you
  • Deliberate PS2-era low-poly look, with a Sharp toggle in Settings that switches it off and a first-person field-of-view slider
  • Press V to swap between third and first person; the DJ booth, Charlie's desk and selfies always drop into first person
  • Every selfie taken in Walk the Mixer is kept in a Photo album on the title screen, and any shot can be saved to your device
  • Level select and a Skip level button mean a failed night never blocks the rest, and cleared levels are remembered by your browser
  • Plays on phone as well as desktop, with a thumb stick, swipe-to-look and an ACT button; the whole build is about 15 MB

How to play

Hit Start the party and a mission card tells you who you are and what the night needs. WASD walks, dragging the mouse or tapping the arrow keys turns the camera, E, Space or a click talks to people and picks things up, and V swaps between third and first person. Follow the coloured beacons: blue leads to the USB or to Charlie's secret fridge, green to the ice cream van. Each mission has one clear rule in the corner of the screen: a countdown, a selfie count, a grease rating, a points total or a cap on mistakes. Clear it to unlock the next night; fail and you can retry, skip it or jump back in through Level select.

Tips & strategies

  1. 1.The USB is not in the same place every run. The HUD tells you to ask DJ Holland, Rachel Hume or Beefy Melons, and one of them drops the hint about where it ended up (the loos, behind the ice cream van, the bins at the top of the hill or the sofa in the guest area); a blue beacon then marks the spot. Danny only covers for four minutes, so ask first and sprint second.
  2. 2.At Charlie's desk, trust the Noise Police bar, not Charlie. Each of the three tracks arrives with its bands knocked off-centre, and the fix is to drag each fader the opposite way until that band reads green, then hold still for a second to lock it in. Charlie's mood only cares about bass, and pushing it to please him sends the Noise Police bar red; his mood never clears a track, three green bands do.
  3. 3.In Walk the Mixer, pink diamonds mark fans who will pose. Red cones are the vlog crew's camera sightlines, and walking through one costs you a selfie, so path around them rather than through. The green light to the ice cream van only appears after the fifth selfie.
  4. 4.Catering is arithmetic. The eight items carry hidden grease scores: loaded burger 4, cheesy chips, six doughnuts and pizza slice 3 each, energy drink, churros and warm lager 2 each, and the fruit cup takes 2 away. Holland needs 10 out of 10 from three picks, so it has to be the burger plus two of the three-pointers.
  5. 5.The Rider gives you sixty seconds and room to carry eight drinks at once. Spirits, posh beers and wine are worth far more than cans, so grab those first and follow the blue light to the fridge behind the desk the moment you are full. If someone walks off with a bottle, bump into them and they drop it. The bag of crisps is a flat 25-point bonus, and you need 100 points in the fridge to pass.
  6. 6.In Throw Them Off, ask Danny and Holland first: they tell you how their real mates would describe them. Real Danny is blond with a beard, shades and a leather jacket; real Holland wears a black NY cap and a bomber jacket. Anyone who mentions a cowboy hat, ginger beard, curly grey hair, red cap or ponytail is a random, as is anyone vaguely on THE list, with the band or asking for twenty minutes on the decks. The Club Culture crew really are on the list. Three mates thrown off ends the night; ten randoms clears it.

Troubleshooting

Piccadilly Party Simulator is a 15 MB WebGL build, so the first load takes a moment, more so on mobile data, and you will see a spinner until the title screen appears. If the keys stop doing anything, click once on the play area to give the game focus. A frozen or black picture usually means the browser dropped the 3D context: reload the page, and your cleared levels and photo album will still be there.

Frequently asked questions

Is Piccadilly Party Simulator free to play?

Yes. It runs free in your browser on this page with no download, account or payment, and there is no paid version. The developer offers the same build on itch.io and at piccadilly.party.

Is the Piccadilly Party a real stage?

Yes. It is the late-night party stage in the Leeds Festival campsite at Bramham Park, run by Beefy Melons Event Creatives, and the DJs and crew in the game are named after the real team. The developer credits the organisers directly on the game.

Why does the title screen say Piccadilly Party Simulator 2?

The build's own title card carries a 2, but the developer's itch.io page and official site both list a single game called Piccadilly Party Simulator, and only one game is published under the name. You are not missing a first part.

Does my progress save?

Yes. Cleared levels and the photo album are stored in your browser, so coming back on the same device and browser picks up where you left off. Clearing site data or switching browsers starts fresh.

Can I play it on my phone?

Yes. The game is built for touch as well as keyboard: a thumb stick on the left to walk, a swipe on the right to look and an ACT button to talk. It downloads about 15 MB, so Wi-Fi makes the first load quicker.

How long does it take to finish?

Six short missions. The longest timers are four minutes for the USB hunt and sixty seconds for the changeover, so a full run fits in one sitting, and Level select lets you replay any night.
