Ashen Watch
One blade against the endless siege.
About the game
Ashen Watch puts you at the gates of the kingdom's last keep, where Princess Elira shelters from the siege. As her guardian you cut the attackers down by hand, wave after wave, and pick a fresh perk after every battle — arrow volleys, chain lightning, a flaming blade, a dodge roll. Coins from each run feed a persistent upgrade tree, a boss arrives every fifth wave, and the siege escalates across twenty waves until the story reveals what truly waits beyond the final battle.

Game features
- Direct action defense — you meet the siege at the gates with a blade, not from a tower menu
- A roguelite perk after every battle: arrow volleys, chain lightning, a flaming blade or a dodge roll
- A boss encounter every fifth wave, each one opening a new cinematic chapter of the siege
- Twenty waves of escalating combat across eight enemy types
- A persistent upgrade tree with six branches — Vitality, Keep, Blade, Flame, Mobility and Companions — where coins buy permanent ranks
- Five cosmetic armor skins, each with its own armor, weapons and animations, with stats left unchanged
- A hireable companion (H key) who fights at your side once funded
How to play
Guide the guardian with WASD or the arrow keys — at close range the blade swings on its own — and press Space to unleash the storm strike when the gate gets crowded. Clear the wave, bank the coins, and take the upgrade offered between battles. Every fifth wave fields a boss, and beating it opens the next chapter of the siege. Between runs, spend your earnings in the Legacy upgrade tree across Vitality, Keep, Blade, Flame, Mobility and Companions, unlocking skills such as the flaming blade (Q), dodge roll (Shift) or a companion (H) as you push toward wave twenty.
Tips & strategies
- 1.Spend your first coins on Vitality — a bigger health pool buys survival time, and survival time buys more coins
- 2.Coins survive every death: a failed watch still banks its earnings for the upgrade tree, so no run is wasted
- 3.Every purchase raises prices across the whole tree, so buy the cheap survival ranks early before inflation sets in
- 4.Treat every fourth wave as prep, because the fifth always fields a boss
- 5.Hold the storm strike (Space) for the moments monsters cluster at the gate instead of spending it on lone stragglers
- 6.Hire the companion (H, 80 coins) once a run is funded — it keeps fighting while you reposition
