Endless highway traffic racer

Horizon Highway Driving

Cut it close for points, boost and a faster car.

About the game

Horizon Highway Driving is an endless browser traffic racer built around close calls. Skim past cars and trucks at speed and you earn points, a combo multiplier that climbs to x5 and the boost that keeps the run going, while the road rolls through five regions from Open Country to Horizon City under a day-night cycle that turns over every four minutes. Traffic thickens the longer you last, accidents ahead of you become risky bonus chances, and any decent run pays out upgrade points for your Falcon S.

Game features

  • Endless run with no laps or finish line, just distance and a best score to beat
  • Bonuses from 280 points for a slipstream to 1,650 for a pileup escape, all multiplied by your combo
  • A combo that climbs to x5, holds for 4.8 seconds after each bonus and falls back to x1 the moment you crash
  • Five regions on a 7 km loop: Open Country, Pine Ridge, Red Rock, Industrial Belt and Horizon City
  • Timed road events (Rush Hour, Truck Convoy, Fog Bank and Speed Zone) that raise the score multiplier for 13 to 14 seconds
  • Four garage upgrades with five levels each: Engine, Handling, Nitro and Armor
  • Chase and cockpit cameras, plus seven paint swatches and a custom color picker

How to play

The Falcon S cruises at 178 km/h on its own, so your first job is steering with A and D or the left and right arrows. Hold W or Up to climb toward 292 km/h, S or Down to brake, and Space to burn boost for up to 350 km/h. Pass traffic above 138 km/h with less than a car's width to spare and you score a near miss, which raises your combo and refills boost. Every crash costs a life and resets the combo. When the last life goes, the run pays out upgrade points to spend in the garage, and R or Enter puts you straight back on the road.

Tips & strategies

  1. 1.Buy Armor first: a stock car dies on its first crash, and each level adds a life and keeps more speed and boost after a hit
  2. 2.Stay above 138 km/h, since near misses don't count below it. The 178 km/h cruise clears that bar, so you can score without touching the throttle
  3. 3.Line up two cars for Thread the Needle: a second near miss within about a quarter of a second pays 1,250 base points instead of 640
  4. 4.Treat accidents as points. A tight pass pays 920 for a Wreck Dodge, or 1,650 for a Pileup Escape when three or more wrecked cars are bunched together
  5. 5.Reach 220 km/h as soon as Speed Zone appears, because its x1.5 score bonus only applies at or above that speed
  6. 6.Sit 5 to 21 m behind a car above 135 km/h to slipstream: it refills boost and pays 280 points. A full stock boost tank burns out in about four seconds, so save it for open road

Frequently asked questions

Is Horizon Highway Driving free to play?

Yes. It runs in your browser on this page with no download or account. A short ad may appear as the game loads, skippable after about five seconds; the game doesn't pause behind it, so let it clear before you press Start Drive.

How many crashes can I survive?

One per Armor level, so a single hit at level 1 and five at level 5. The in-game briefing says level 1 survives a major collision, but in our testing a level 1 car ended its run on the first crash.

How do I earn upgrade points?

A finished run pays one point, plus one per 12,000 score and one per 8 km, up to four per run. Runs under 750 m that also score below 1,200 pay nothing.

Does my progress save?

Yes. Upgrades, unspent points, paint and best score save automatically in your browser's local storage, so they stay on this device and browser until you clear its site data.

Can I play Horizon Highway Driving on a phone?

Yes. Touch screens get on-screen buttons for steering, brake, boost, camera and pause. There's no throttle button, so you cruise at the base speed and use boost for bursts.

Is this the same game as Highway Horizon on mobile?

No. This is the G55.CO browser game, and it needs no install. Similarly named apps such as Highway Horizon on Google Play and Car Racing Horizon Highway 3D on the App Store are separate listings.
